    • For the past week it has been Esquece by Os Ekos. I really can't get enough of that song, even though I know only a very small amount of Portuguese. As for all time, Johnny Thunders One Track Mind gives me goosebumps every god damn time. Also, I get shaky when I hear the Searcher's version of Needles and Pins.

    • If you want to do this, use TuneCore. They're great, relatively inexpensive, and they'll get your music on all of the main music retail sites. By the way, there's a topic about offering digital downloads on the Labels & Distros group, too (just an FYI).

    • CD Baby is good for CDs. It has a program to get your albums onto iTunes, Amazon and other download services. When I joined a few years ago it only cost $30-$35 to get you set up. I just have one CD (recorded in the early 80s) and I've made dozens of dollars. http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/terrell

    • I'm checkin' some infos about selling your band's music on line. It looks that iTunes is the main one, while others are not available in Europe.
I can't say much about it 'cause I even tried.  What do you think about it?

Now, that streaming business is all fine and dandy BUT you fine guys just (PLEASE) GOT to record that as a downloadable podcast!
You are right, I could just snap it off the net with a audio-recording device when it airs, but I will be away from the internets at that time this is on, most possibly, so... big sissy wheep if I won't get to hear that one!

Here's the lyrics: Carlos and Carmen Vidal just had a child A lovely girl with a crooked smile Now they gotta split 'cause the Bronx ain't fit For a kid to grow up in Let's find a place they say, somewhere far away With no blacks, no Jews and no gays Chorus: There but for the grace of God go I Poppy and the family left the dirty streets To find a quiet place overseas And year after year the kid has to hear The do's the don'ts and the dears And when she's ten years old she digs that rock 'n' roll But Poppy bans it from home Chorus Baby, she turns out to be a natural freak Popping pills and smoking weed And when she's sweet sixteen she packs her things and leaves With a man she met on the street Carmen starts to bawl, bangs her head to the wall Too much love is worse than none at all

There but for the grace of God go I

Poppy and the family left the dirty streets
To find a quiet place overseas
And year after year the kid has to hear
The do's the don'ts and the dears
And when she's ten years old she digs that rock 'n' roll
But Poppy bans it from home

      Chorus

Baby, she turns out to be a natural freak
      Popping pills and smoking weed
And when she's sweet sixteen she packs her things and leaves
With a man she met on the street
Carmen starts to bawl, bangs her head to the wall
Too much love is worse than none at all

Here you go. And good luck:

She fights like a cornered animal.
And she shows all her claws.
Says all the wrong things to hurt me.
      She just knows them all.
One second and she's so shy.
      Then she just blows up.
It's like dropping a stick of dynamite,
      In a Dixie cup.

      She's volatile.
      She's my baby.
      Nitroglycerine.
      Nitroglycerine.
      Nitroglycerine.

      She'll tantalize me.
      Till I got to explode.
When I'm up there with her.
      You just go go go.
Then she starts to bite me.
      Man I just don't know.
She starts taking chunks of flesh.
Like a dog on a bone.

      She's volatile.
      She's my baby.
      Nitroglycerine.
      Nitroglycerine.
      Nitroglycerine.

      I just don't know.
      What'll happen next.
Will she want to fight with me, or
      Will she just want sex?
I say girl you get us killed.
      She just laughs and says,
Baby, if I die with you,
It'll be the answer to all my prayers.

      She's volatile.
      She's my baby.
      Nitroglycerine.
      Nitroglycerine.

    • ...well, if possible, you should spend your bucks on a used DUAL 701 or 704, still the best deal in my opinion, forget 'bout those players available on the market these days. got my second-hand 701 'bout 10 years ago and it still works like a charm, simply perfect! so if you've got the chance to get one of those (even on "ebay"...), think it over...

You can't go wrong with a Technics 1200, or check out the Vestax Guber, a very cool little turntable. The Guber is belt-driven though so if you plan on DJing it's not he way to go.
