Good luck with this. We did a Ramones tribute show in Chicago , for the Leukemia amd Lymphoma Society , several years ago. Cancer may win , much of teh time , but it takes an ass beating with every day a survivor lives.

We (Thee Fine Lines) have been located in Springfield MO (for better or for worse) for the past 14 years. I don't think that during any of that time has any kind of huge show of any significance happened (there have been good ones, though, do not doubt!)
Coming in May is a 3-day festival with some big names. We aren't always good about keeping up with what is cool, but I have been told that some of these bands are a big deal. We are glad to be a part of it! Check out the list and the facebook event thing is at the bottom! You have all been warned!

Last Shaved Women Show W/ Tenement, Mellow Harsher, Solid Attitude and Trauma Harness
After 6 odd years Shaved Women is calling it quits. This is the last day of our East Coast tour with Trauma Harness.
Tenement and Mellow Harsher both from Wisconsin are coming down too. They are with out a doubt some of the closest friends we have made as a band through touring so it's only fitting that we play our last show with them.
Solid Attitude are from Minneapolis by way of Iowa City. More great friends made from sleeping on floors and sitting in vans for hours.
Show starts at 8pm. Bring $10 for the bands. Show starts at 8pm.

Hey, I'm new around here. Just seeing if there's anyone on here from the Knoxville, TN area.
Also, I doubt anyone here really refers to themselves as "punx"... ;)

I think you need to be a bit more specific... I mean, "looking for punkrock bands"... for what? To listen to? To book? Please elaborate.
Most of the bands that you'll find on this site (or that are recommended via this site) will be more in the trashy, garage-punk style, not your typical "punkrock" bands like the Social Distortion wannabes out there.
someone?

I WOULD HAVE LOVED TO HAVE HEARD JEFF GROWL "YOU'RE LISTENING TO WHISKEY'N'WATERBEDS WITH JOEY FUCKUP.... IT'S NOT PUNK ROCK , IT'S NEW WAVE ! IT'S A TOTALLY DIFFERENT HEAD !!!!!!!!!!"
I've seen ANTiSEEN twice here in Roanoke, back in '10 and '11, and needless to say they nailed it. Back when I co-hosted a podcast called "Whiskey 'N' Waterbeds", I was able to interview Jeff Clayton for an episode. We hooked up down at the Milestone Club in Charlotte, NC when I was recording some interviews with some bands playing there a few years ago, and we sat out in the car and shared some apple pie moonshine I just happened to have on me. Not exactly something that happens everyday...
The Boss-Tides are looking for a bass player for gigs and recording. Basic knowledge of surf music is a must. We are signed to a label (Wild Records) and will also be doing some recording soon. PM me if interested. Thanks
