Excellent call with Atomic Suplax. We played with them in London last year and it was a spectacle to remember. Not heard the new record yet, but will rectify that right now. Manchester's The Black Knights specialised in pure trash garage sleeze a while back. They've since morphed into The Calimocho Club. More muscular, less sleeze, but still great trash.

leighton koizumi just posted this Gravedigger V vid on the GPH -- it's blang blang blang fun. The vid isn't great quality-wised, but it def. captured the spirit of the moment.

Oh yeah! Didn't know that Ravens thing was reissued! Thanks as well for the background info on Deja Voodoo everyone - I've heard both bands briefly, so all that is pretty darn cool.

Gerard van Herk, guitarist/vocalist/songwriter for Deja Voodoo still does the occasional show. John, you obviously know about the one in Toronto with Bloodshot Bill as drummer. It was supposed to be an OG Records reunion of sorts, OG was the record label formed by Deja Voodoo. There's some poor quality video of this show on youtube.

We had Gerard here in London Ontario this past summer and we got him up and playing for about 15m with a mystery drummer. It was totally amazing to see Gerard playing songs that we hadn't seen him do in over 20 years!! A lot of the younger folks who missed Deja Voodoo first time around became instant fans and finally got to see the legend! Below is a pic of Gerard in action at this show.

Gerard is currently in Newfoundland and sometimes does gigs with his son on drums.

Deja Voodoo were amongst the very first of the 2 piece combos...starting about 1982 and lasting 8 years...Drum kit with no cymbals, 10 dollar guitar (like you mentioned) and a cheap amp. They would travel by Edsel in the early days (until the Edsel broke down) and then via bus and train with all of their equipment tightly packed as carry on luggage.
