Hey folks. I need help from anyone willing. I am building a wish list for Baby Jesus Day, and need to add to my (ashamed to say) non-exisitent Garage Punk collection (I'm a podcast junkie).

Gimmie your top-ten must-have albums, or whatever recommendations you might have.

      Mucho appreciated (;

Here are a few suggestions, garage wise...

"Living is the Best Revenge" by the Cynics.

"61/49" by the Romantics (Don't laugh if you only remember them from their 80s heyday. This album is a kick ass garage rocker).

"Psychedelic Sunrise" by the Chesterfield Kings.

      "Monkey Time" by the Maggots.

      "Strange Magic" by the Charms.

"Wide Awake in the Spirit World" by Outrageous Cherry.

"Fluff and Fold" by the Launderettes.

"Les Hell on Heels" self titled debut.

"7X4" by the Gore Gore Girls.

For something other than garage rock, here are some more suggestions...

"Running with the Wasters" by the Takeover UK (A great mix of garage, glam, brit and power pop).

"We are the Pipettes (Great retro girl group).

"After Hours" by Prima Donna (Glam rock revivalists).

"More Seduction" by Manda and the Marbles (Cool mix of power pop and new wave).

"Barbarella Girl God" by the Chevelles (Good, solid power pop band).

      Those are my suggestions.

start your own 'garage rock' collection.

manilow, hooker, real kids, missing persons, falco. if it's in your garage and you rock to it, you just did your own math.

      The Fuzztones: Lysergic Emanations
      Iggy Pop: Lust for Life
Albums that I didn't like at first but really grew on my and became lasting faves:

Hope that helps get you started. When I first started getting into punk (at age 16 year 1984) I didn't like the Cramps or the Stooges at first. It took me a while for the hook to get into my skin.
