what a great comp this would be in the same vein as the Louie, Louie comp.  great thread.  Tom Jones / White obviously trying a bit too hard but I do like the version.  Maybe about time I listen to that album release.

....We have'nt talked about The Everly Bros. version? They did great versions of "Jezebel" and "Temptation" (Two very similar songs when you get right down to it.) around the same time , with Proto - Garage , "Peter Gunn " played backwards guitar. Too Tuff !

      Oh yeah,

The Mono Men, b-side on the 'I Don't Care' 7"

(Can't find any audio on the web, kind of a scarce track used on a couple comps and a 'best of' CD. Maybe someone can post a link if they know of one?)

It's on the double vinyl version of A PROMISE IS A PROMISE from Canada that came out in 1988.

the Lyres used to do a great version of it. I don't know if it's on any of their records, but I used to see them play it all the time.

"If ever a Devil's plan , was for Lucy to work with my band , it was you...."

It's possible Desi "Had" Jezebel first , but , Frankie Laine owned that song in the 50's , and made it a standard. I don't know what year either version was  done , though. I like Arnaz's version better, tho'.

I think White did play guitar on it....I like that it IS a totally different song , but , the flipside (?) I think it's "Evil " by Howlin' Wolf , that kills.

Really? I think that's far from the original Jezebel. Sounds like a different song, it even has different lyrics. Is Jack White playing on it?
