The best band I've seen in the past 2 years has to be The Parents...Amazing bloody singer/songwriter...I personally can't get enough of them, just a pity they don't play live as much as they should.

Hi , hey I had not heard the Readies so I checked their myspace, that shit ROCKS and I want more.  Anyone have some they can send over to me, even a couple of tunes, or know where there is more posted?  I will def. be on the lookout down here in the swamp and when I'm back up in the Detroit area visiting for live shows.  Do they have a CDs out?

I just got my mp3 of this song, and it sounds great:)  I guess Little Steven can't be all that bad if he hires Kim Fowley as a DJ and allows him to play an artist he's helping to develop (BTW, that's just some good natured ribbing.  I'm not looking for a fight).

Now I'm looking forward to any LPs by Victoria.

Honestly most the songs I've personally written just happen when I'm playing the guitar. I'll find a riff repeat it, then another part comes and there's a song. The words always come when I'm the shower or walking down the street.

I've co-written songs with other people, bouncing ideas of each other when jamming. And again the words come to me in the shower or walking down the street. I've tried sitting down and writing lyrics but I just ended up walking off to have a cigarette and hang out with the dog or listen to some music.

would love to hear some stuff when you record it.

We usually write as a band. Either I will have most of the music in my head already or I'll have a couple riffs that I have been working on and we will play one over and over until the singer starts to find his words. Once we have a verse or two then we try to make some changes. Organize and mapping comes next. Then we usually record it so we can listen and come up with more ideas. The song on my page Do it is the rough recording about ten minutes in. I had an Idea of changing the chords in the chorus after the second verse. Probable after listening to a bunch of early Sonic Youth. We are about to re record it with a drum track that I just finished. Let me know what you think.

I've had good luck with these guys...http://www.cdrollout.com/    I don't know how competitive the pricing is but they're super easy to work with and even threw in some freebies. Tell 'em I sent you.

can anyone recommend any record distributors that cater to garage/punk/rock n' roll and may accept submissions for small releases?  Especially in Europe. Let me know if anyone has any suggestions!!
