Friends, squires and noblemen... lend me yer cult-ivated ears. I am putting together a cool little Canadian zine focusing on '60s teen-beat, group sounds and degenerate adolescent rock'n'roll from past decades! I am currently looking for contributions and submissions for articles, interviews, record raves, useless babble, recent reviews of the re-ish scene, etc. Anything that's remotely interesting and befitting of our little digs! It will be distributed throughout Central Canada (Quebec/Ontario), and I would really love to feature writing from the many wise and talented garage gurus of the GaragePunk forums. We're not snobs to fuzz, screams and tambourines either... pop-psych, UK Invasion, early combo sounds, surf music, folk-rock and other related content is more than welcomed in our printed yellow payges! Sadly, Estelle of the Ronettes passed away few days ago. She was sister to Veronica (Ronnie Spector).

I agree that it would be interesting to know where he's buried... unless he's being cremated, which is a possibility.

The cramps official website states that a donation to animal society www.bestfriends.org should be left instead of flowers, so I made a donation there.

Thank you for your response. The ceremony was yesterday. I hadn't plan on attending the actual ceremony only to leave flowers afterwards, which I would still like to do.

a press release on their official website states that his funeral service will only be attended by his closest family, and wish it to be of the utmost privacy.

Does anyone know where Lux Interior's final resting place will be? A friend of mine says his burial is today and seems to think it's in Los Angeles/So Cal area somewhere but doesn't have the dets. If anyone has any info. I would very much appreciate it. Thanks! -I.D.

THE ASTRONAUTS, 1964 LP reissue Title: Competition Coupe Sundazed Bear with me all; this is my first attempt at a record review.... So I bought this sucker because my mom when to college in Boulder and would always talk about the Astronauts along with every other old fogy I met from Colorado. I'll keep it short and simple... This record was kind of 50/50 for me. All the vocal tracks pretty much reminded me of early beach boys, which I played out when I was about 6. So if thats your thing you'll love it because all the instrumental songs are pretty freakin solid! Only wish there were more instroson the LP. Actually i saw them live in London, and i didn't get it all! Literally the room was rammed fulla' bodies and i could barely swig m'pint. Still puzzled i got the record anyway, and it grew on me.

They had me at bikini Girls with Machine Guns,but I admit,I always took em for granted(I have too many bands to obsess over) and the loss totally got me down. Hope Ivy and em are all right.

Damn...Saw the Cramps in 78 and they blew me away. In 1980 he invited The Cudas to support The Cramps in London and Lux was a most gracious host, really went out of his way to make us feel welcome. The Feelies were on the same bill and their management tried to muscle them in to play after us in the prime support, but Lux put his foot down and ensured the order of the bill was respected. He was a real Rock 'N' Roll fan, shaker and mover and a real gentleman to boot.

Here's a sad story. If you can help: DO SO! In Memphis there's a 4-year old little girl fighting cancer. She needs to have surgery and her parents need real money for that. Her mom is called Amy Ives and her dad is Zac Ives, co-owner of Goner Records.
