I'm gonna be in Branson, MO next week. What's cool to do there if you're older than 10 and younger than 75?
No problem Andrew. others here have been very helpful when I've planned trips to other cities. Just have a nagging feeling that I am leaving out some stuff. As I am sure you are aware, check out some of the record shops to find out what's up too. Here's just a few for starters.

LA is hit n miss as far as what is going on at a club on any particular date. Check out the LA Weekly and LA record websites:
Here are some places where you may find some going ons, depending on a particular day of the week:
And ocassionally these venues will have something worth checking out:
The Juke Joint (Anaheim)
The Observatory/Constellation Room (Santa Ana)
Burger Records in Fullerton also has a lot of bands play at the store.
DJ Nights:
Lot's of different bars have DJs spinning music on different nights. Here arre a few that might interest you.
Hooefully some others will speak up, as I don't claim to be in the know anymore, and the LA area is a pretty big place.
Hey guys, heading to USA for a holiday in a few days time. Would really appreciate some suggestions of some bars/venues/clubs if any that relate to anything garage. Going to be in San Fran, L.A & Vegas. The Hemlock in SF & the Viper Room in L.A are already on the list aswell as the House of Blues in L.A
the straynge are currently seeking a drummer and bass player in central or northern California,do you dig lo-fi garage punk?,do you wanna record, play shows and have some fun?,then we'd love to hear from you!!!
I agree, the Space is a great venue and they usually have pretty good acts. I also saw Dick Dale there a couple of years ago or so. I wonder why he only plays there when he comes to Chicago, I would love to see him at Martyr's or Fiztgeralds, which are closer to me!
The lovely and vivacious mrs. o and I got a chance to see Dick Dale, with opening act Ambassadors to Earth, a couple three weeks ago at SPACE in Evanston.
It was a pretty good show. Double barrelled surf rock! Amplification was perfect. A good time was had by all.
A cozy little venue it is, bar/pizza joint in front. Order a pie, eat while you listen to music. Waitresses make sure you don't go dry.
SPACE hosts a variety of acts. We'll go back for sure, if and when another act suits our fancy.

DC, Baltimore....close enough!
I was going to respond to this but realized it's from, like, a million years ago.
