    • Radio What Wave Playlist May 21/2015

      1. Hiroshima Hearts....14 Floors...demo and  probably the same version as their CD that is just out.

      2. BB King.... Ain't Nobody Home...from a Greatest Hits LP on ABC/Dunhill. Also features Bobby Keys, who also recently passed away, on sax.

      3. Paul James Band....Almost Crazy... from the LP of the same name 1984. Paul was in town on friday.

      4.  Kinks....Milkcow Blues...from The Kinks Kontroversy LP, mid 60's. I was reading a recent Shindig magazine where they covered the Kinks in fair depth.

      5. 63 Monroe...Bloodstains...from the brand new Punk Rock Soldier LP. This song was originally done by NFG, who sorta merged into 63 Monroe approx 1980.

      6. Excelsior....Shut In....from their recent Punk Floyd EP on It's Trash Records.

      7. 905s....City Tonite...from the recent Shake Down CD.

      8. The Noble Savages...Boy No More...from a recent demo.

      9. The Sonics....Don't Need No Doctor...from the recent This Is The Sonics LP. Bunch of old farts who prove they can rock harder than most twenty somethings!!

      10. The Sonics....Be A Woman....as above.

      11. Yardbirds...Lost Woman...from the Over Under Sideways Down LP.

      12. UIC....Our Garage...from the LP of the same name from 1986. Exeter boys make good in Toronto!!

      13.  UIC....Strange Sin.... as above.

      14. The Barbarians... Are You A Boy?,,,from their self titled LP from the mid 60's. Sent this out to Ryan In The Red who was supposed to call in and talk about his latest combo, Vintage Experience. Ryan fell asleep on the couch, something that seems to happen to many of us at one time or another. BTW, Vintage Experience rocked hard last night at the London Ale House.

      15. Duster Bennett....I Love My Baby....from the 12 DBs LP. Duster was a one man blues band from the UK in the mid to late 60's. This track features original Yardbird guitarist Top Topham and sounds very Yardbirds-ish.

      16. The Matadors... Pink Lincoln...from The Devil's Music CD from 2004. The Matadors played at Call the Office last night.

      17. Drastic Measures....Teddy Bears Picnic....1980 Toronto combo and the start of our songs about summer.

      18. The Troggs...Summertime...from a 7". Mid 60's AM radio hit.

      19. The Barracudas....His Last Summer...1980 7" that features Jeremy Gluck on lead vocals.

      20. The Valves...Ain't No Surf in Portobello....1977 7" from this UK combo.

      21. The Undertones....Here Comes The Summer...from their first LP from 1979.

      22. Bevis Frond... Summer Holiday...1993  EP from Nick Saloman.

      23. The Barracudas....I Wish It Could Be 1965 Again...from a 7" from 1980. Not really a summer time record, but my fave single by  The Barracudas.

      24. Vintage Experience....Little Bit Of Soul....from a recent demo.

      25. Vintage Experience...For Your Love...as above.

      26. Vintage Experience...Love Her Madly... as above.

Big thanx for all the phone calls, emails, facebook messages and Heys!!! Back again next week at the same time.

    • ....THIS WEEK , THEY ANNOUNCED THE ADDITION OF AUGIE MEYER , LEGENDARY VOX KEYBOARD PLAYER FOR THE SIR DOUGLAS QUINTET . AUGIE HAS ALSO COLLABORATED WITH FREDDIE FENDER , SAM THE SHAM , GENE VINCENT , ROKY ERICKSON , JOE "KING"CARRASCO , AND OTHERS.     ALSO JUST ADDED IS ROCKABILLY LEGEND , JOE CLAY . HOPEFULLY , HE'LL GET TO DO A FULL SET. HE'S STILL AN OVER THE TOP PERFORMER.  THE BO - KAYS , LED BY SCOTT BOMAR (IMPALA , '68 COMEBACK , AND MANY HOLLYWOOD SOUNDTRACKS LIKE "BLACK SNAKE MOAN".) WILL ALSO BE PLAYING , JOINED BY MEMBERS OF TEH HI RECORD RHYTHM SECTION.

THERE STILL IS'NT A RINGER OF THE MAGNITUDE OF 2012'S SETS BY THE SONICS OR THE STANDELLS WITH JOHNNY ECHOLS , BUT , HERE'S HOPING THERE'S STILL AN ACE UP THEIR SLEEVE.

    • Steve , I guess I phrased that poorly. I thought that you might be more geeked up than me , about the lineup , as it stands  , for the next Stomp , but, that was presumptous on my part.

    • Not to mention Chris Montez , The Gaunga Dyns , Charlie Gracie , Johnny Echols , Cyril Jordan , Eve and The EXILES , Deke Dickerson , an all too short appearance by Ty Wagner , and The Sloths (EVEN IF THE SINGERS' HILARIOUS PROP COMIC SCHTICK WENT OVER SOME PEOPLES'HEADS...) and more Soulsingers whose names I've forgotten than you can shake a stick at (All good , pretty much.).

I JUST DON'T KNOW. IT REMAINS TO BE SEEN.

    • Did I say you were "Geeked Up"?

At first glance it doesn't look nearly as impressive as 2013's lineup. How can you match The Sonics, The Standells and Swamp Dogg? But maybe you're right and a few more shoes will drop.

    • Hey Everybody,

This is my 1st post, I am a guitarist, been digging the garage punk sounds for a couple of years now & slowly dabbling in recordings.  Hope to joing in where I can & look forward to participating.

Find attached a track i recently recorded, would appreciate any advice/constructive critic whatever.

It was done on my lappy so not the best quality.

      Cheers
