    • Hey guys, I'm trying to figure out the names of two songs by two bands from the 1982 cult flick, Whatever Happened To Susan Jane? First song is a Synthpunk tune, second is more of an offbeat Post-Punk/No Wave tune. Can anyone identify these for me??

    • I've been re uploading the old Killed By Porn episodes onto archive.org...

you can find them by going to archive.org and searching killed By Porn (https://archive.org/search.php?query=killed%20by%20porn)

I'm up to episode 36 and uploading more as I get time... archive.org doesn't always list them in order, but the first 36 are there.

As soon as I get all 69 of the originals back online, I'll have to find the surfcast episodes I did, and I may even upload the Killed By Porn #70 I made 3 years ago.

    • Unfortunately most of our earlier shows that were being uploaded to Blip.tv (and later, Mevio.com) are all gone since BOTH of those hosting services ceased support for audio files (and I think Mevio morphed into some other name entirely). That's the risk you take when you rely on third-party hosts, I guess. It's possible that someone has them stored on a hard drive or CDR somewhere, though. Duke might have them himself. You could always ask him directly: http://www.garagepunk.com/profile/Eastwood

    • Does anyone know how to get old episodes of some of these  podcasts?? I only have ONE episode of "Killed By Porn" in my computer and cherish it. How do I get other episodes of these now defunct shows???

    • Oh Jeez. For the past few weeks I have been complaining that the new Studio X at WITR has a large window that allows the public to see in. Well there is a juggling convention going on today at R.I.T. and now I will have to see out. Jugglers are right up there with mimes on my dislike list. You can share my pain by listening to The Jeff of the Future Radio Show on Saturday April 11th from 1:00-3:00PM EST. Listen at 89.7 WITR-FM in Rochester, NY or streaming live at http://witr.rit.edu

    • The Ponderosa Stomp (OCT. 1-3rd , Rock'n'Bowl  , New Orleans.) have finally announced (The Majority of) the scheduled musical guests , record show , parties and music forums . TICKET DETAILS AND SPECIAL EARLY BIRD DISCOUNTS ARE ALSO AVAILABLE. The Rock'n'Bowl proved a great facility for the last fest....But , then , there's the matter of the music , itself.  While 2013 (There was'nt a Stomp , last year.) was amply stocked with Garage legends ( The Sonics , The Standells with Johnny Echols from Love , The Sloths , Ty Wagner and The Gaunga Dyns.) , there are no acts listed that fit the bill ,here.....at least , not yet. It's fair to assume the festival's organizers still have a few aces up their sleeves , and that the real ringers have'nt been sorted out.

Now , Steven Tyrell (Thank you for the shout - out on last week's show.) will probably disagree strongly , but , I'm not as geeked up as I'd like to be.

Standouts from the announced lineup include the mighty , mighty Roy Head (Here's hoping he finally gets to do a full set , this time.) , Irma Thomas , Barbara Lynn (ALWAYS A FESTIVAL HIGHLIGHT.),  Billy Boy Arnold , Mike Waggoner of The Bops (Minnesota Rockabilly legends.) ., J.M. Van Eaton (Sun Records stalwart Drummer , best known for his early work with Jerry Lee.), Warren Storm , James Alexander (Black Rockabilly and Cochran collaborator.), and (Get This ) , Freddy "Boom Boom" Cannon with Los Straitjackets , and Deke Dickerson , so doubt providing his usual tasteful accompaniement to a majority of the artists on hand.

There are bound to be others announced , hopefully in a relatively short time. The Stomp is a great festival , and it draws some of the coolest people you could wish to meet (You're bound to meet someone, if you attend.)

Onion AV Club, apparently inspired by the Sonics, has published a "Where to start" for Garage Rock -- going back to the SOnics and Standells and all the way up to The Black Lips, Thee Oh Sees and a lot of cool bands from the decades in between.

It's pretty basic and most of us probably already know most the stuff here. And there are a couple of factual errors. (The Standells' home town wasn't really Boston)

But it's pretty cool. And if just one new fan finds The Gories or The Crams from this, it's all worth it,

    • No worries, John. Records will be on their way to you soon!

    • March 28, 2015 1:36 AM CDT
    • Simon , I admit , I overreacted , and I apologize for that. The first time I tried to order the album , I was not able to access the information by enterring the US as country for delivery . I don't know what happened , but ,  I should not have taken this as an indication that your label wasn't talking orders from The US. I spoke out of turn , but I was not trying to start any rumors against Ugly Pop Records.

I tried a second time , and it looks like the order went through , fine , though there did'nt seem to be any way to make a print copy of a receipt . As long as the order went through , that's fine.

Again , I meant no slur on your professional reputation , and I hope to order from you again in the near future.                                         John Battles.
