"The Young Animals" "The Cycle Savages" (I think.) - The Orphan Egg. Insanely underrated Garage -Psych band that released one great album. They reformed , recently , and are on You Tube. I don't know how many original members are involved , but , if ya likes screamin' guitars.....
The Chocolate Watcband in "The Love - ins". Reportedly , they were'nt shown as prominently as they should have been , because band members pulled some ace pranks on the set , pissing off the powers that be . They're shown , center screen , for about 3 seconds , then mainly from the back with acoustic guitars. The song selection is outstanding , including "Are You Gonna Be There (At The Love in?)" , and an extended "No Way Out". Dave Aguilar told me he was so dissatisfied with "Riot on Sunset Strip" (In which The Watchband kicked ass , of course , netting a large piece of the film.), he did'nt bother seeing "The Love - Ins". I sent him a copy , several years ago.

The Psychotic Turnbuckles on some long forgotten TV show. Check it out from about 1.14
Alice's bit is great in "Dark Shadows" . Good non - suck 70's soundtrack (OK , SOME OF IT SUCKS.). CHRISTOPHER LEE HAS A SHORT CAMEO , AND THE LATE JONATHAN FRID , WELL , BLINK AND YOU'LL MISS HIM.

John Waters and Jim Jarmusch are the coolest when it comes to rock n roll appearances.
Oh I was going to say Strawberry Alarm Clock in Psych Out too. I love that film. Aren't the Seeds in that too? The weird funeral scene?
The Pretty Things are in What's Good For The Goose, cringey scene but I really like this song
Another one: Jeff Healy in Roadhouse.
Another one: L7 in Serial Mom. Thanks Antonio for posting that clip.
You mean like Dick Dale and Stevie Ray Vaughn in Back to the Beach? Or Arch Hall jr. in Eegah. The Ramones were in Rock and Roll High School. Guitar Wolf and the Royal Pendletons in The Sore Losers.
Always been partial to Louis Prima, being from Vegas and all....
From 'Hey Boy, Hey Girl"
A few favorites that come to mind
Circle Jerks in Repo Man Circle Jerks as lounge act
Devo, Redd Kross (Jeff & Steve MacDonald) and David Cassidy in Spirit of '76
Lee Ving (amongst others) in Get Crazy Lee Ving as Piggy
Get Crazy also has Lou Reed, Bobby Sherman, Fabian, John Densmore and probably some others we're forgetting.
A great reference source for this discussion is the book "Destroy All Movies!!!"
The Strawberry Alarm Clock were also in Beyond the Valley of the Dolls
Party scene w/Strawberry Alarm Clock

The Strawberry Alarm Clock - Psych Out
Don't forget about the Guitar Wolf movies. The little parts that the band plays in those are pretty epic.
