Hey!
Have a look at our bandcamp (http://thefutureprimitives.bandcamp.com/) because you might like what you hear. We also recommend you listen to Dusty Mush from France, http://dustymush.bandcamp.com/.
Okay, when I was a kid, I thought Creedence were saying "There's a bathroom on the right" (Bad Moon Rising) lol!
Thanks for the words...I'll check out Pirates Press and Rainbow!
I used to press with United out of Nashville. I haven't done a record in several years, so I don't know what's going on with the pressing plants these days. When I did use them, they were great. It's probably worth your time to check them out. I believe one of my good friends uses Rainbow records now. I haven't heard of any problems as of yet. Rainbow is probably the closest to you, they are in Cali. I've heard multiple horror stories concerning Alpha vinyl in Florida. Seems you'd be best to steer clear of that one.
If you guys have the budget, I would do 500 press instead of 300. With the cost of pressing, sleeves and so on, it's hardly worth the time to do anything smaller.
Goes with gz which I tend to avoid. Some of my friends sent in two 45's from two different bands and got to splits. Never got their money back...
Check this dudes out: http://www.piratespress.com/cms/
I press with MPO in France but I use vinylium in Belgium for the order.
We're based in Las Vegas, NV. US

Whereabouts are you? We used Breed media (U.K.), but I think that they subcontracted the actual pressing to GZ (in Czech Republic).

My band The Psyatics will be going into the studio this winter, and plan on pressing LPs as well as CDs. Can I get some guidance on good experiences with pressing plants that will do short runs (200-300)? Best, Rob
Just gave this a quick relisten via Youtube (didn't feel like digging thru the record/CD crates!).
I dunno - something about that solo sounds really tentative, like he was still warming up or something.
You know , as much as I love that song , I can't really make out the guitar solo in my mind , right now that you mention it.
"I Ain't Gonna Eat Out My Heart Anymore" by the Young Rascals.
Listening to a lot of garage-era singles, you can understand why effects boxes were invented, because those guitars had a THIN sound. Even if it was a professional like Gene Cornish from the Rascals. Not his fault, but the music was growing so fast that sometimes the equipment couldn't keep up...
I've found nothing beats a Fender Twin with shitloads of verb, a strat set to the bridge pick up & a nasty ratty splattery 60's fuzz..roll of the volume maybe just a tad on the guitars volume knob..heaven.

THEY SURE WERE ! I was lucky that I got to see them several times....Milt Trenier had his own club , fantastic place , a real 50's coctail lounge/Jazz club , but anyobody that had PANTS on could come in. The Treniers played there about twice a year. I first saw them in '89. Great performance , but not much at all , in the way of rockin' R'n'B. i WAITED ABOUT 5 YEARS , and saw them again , and the OKEH collection on Sony had come out , so , from thereon in , they were ROCKIN' THE HOUSE , AGAIN !!! If they had an engagement at Milt's place , I'd go at least two nights. I also saw them twice in Vegas. They were the last of a line , barring their friends , Freddie Bell and Sam Butera. Actually , when I saw Bell , it was a big letdown. Never got to see Sam , a bigger disappointment. Milt just turned 82 , and still gigs on a regular basis.

Never practiced , late on . That's pretty funny. But , certainly believable. Of course , Mole was in The Mystreated ...I don't have a lot of their stuff , but , they were definitely on the money.
Fortune and Maltese , too , had to be seen to be truly appreciated , but , I liked that they did their homework , and wrote songs in MANY styles of that era , not just monster gurl put downs and/or NW -ish Frat Rockers , like when Frat parties contained kickass music , not just guys getting their asses kicked. Mike Maltese was living here in Chicago , too , because of his work , but he'd drive to Kalamazoo every weekend (Fuck me , I dunno , Five hours?) to work on songs with Freddie Fortune. That's Kaiser - like dedication. In fact , once The Neanderthals , Kaisers , and Fortune and Maltese played a show together at Fitzgerald's in Berwyn. We probably did take stuff like that for granted in The 90's.
I saw The Kaisers lots of times, well every oppurtunity, and yes to see them live had to be seen. Did you know in the last few years of The Kaisers life span they no longer praticed. Thats how good they were, just like The Mystreated stuff I have everything by them fave track must be Dont Go With Him WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Kaisers could not be touched for what they did , it's true. They made an amusing , though not inaccurate , statement , about their music not being retro or nostalgic , but, rather, antiquated . They were'nt ashamed of the tag , they put it on themselves. BUT , they had to be seen live to be truly appreciated. Those guys worked their balls off , like a real "Beat" band would have. When they came to Chicago the first time , they played three nights , did the same another time , and did FIVE nights in a row, another time. I went to the first three shows , and wanted , badly , to see one of the other two , but , just could'nt do it.....
There may have been some very good Beat bands at that time that I never saw or heard , but , those guys killed. The only time they did'nt floor me was when they had to follow The Downliners Sect . You talk about authenticity......

I know it's a tall order , but , I wonder if anyone has a photo of this band? I had an ex- teacher and former friend by that name who would have been in his early 20's around this time , and hung out with Gary Panter's crowd at East Texas State Gulag in the early 70's.....This could have been his band ......But, quite possibly , not. He did tell me he saw The New York Dolls , twice.....At any rate , I think it's the bitchenest Mott rippoff I've ever heard. I don't think Texas had much of a "Glam" scene , in terms of bands , but , a lot of the Dallas Punk bands were formed by people who came up following the Glam scene , as it were , in their teens and maybe early 20's. My friend , Mark Ridlen , from Lithium Xmas , was one of those people , and , he said when he went to London in 1976 , he did'nt get the memo about Punk , so , he thought the kids with green hair were some kind of Glam castoffs.
On second thought , I did'nt see the part about the group having released an album.....If it were him , I'd have heard about it , most likely. But , please amuse yourselves with my half baked theories.....

Have never seen that name on the various junkshop glam comps. Some of it reminds me of Mott, not bad.
Daniel M said:It's hard to keep track of what has been mentioned so far, but the latest Permanent Records email update lists a reissue of an LP by Metz (1974 band from Texas, not the current noise rock band):
DID'NT MEAN TO PHRASE THAT AWKWARDLY , BUT , WHAT I MEANT WAS , MICHAEL MONROE'S BAND , NOW FEATURING SAM YAFFA , STEVE CONTE , AND THE GUY FROM THE HELLACOPTERS (DID'NT FOLLOW THEM , SO , I DON'T KNOW HIS NAME , OFFHAND.) ARE JUST TOURING UNDER MONROE'S NAME , BUT, THEY'RE SO GOOD , THEY COULD CALL THEMSELVES HANOI ROCKS , AND I DON'T THINK VERY MANY PEOPLE WOULD COMPLAIN. BUT , DEFINITELY , THEY ARE THE REAL DEAL. HOPE ALL OF YOU , WHO ARE FANS , OR EVEN SKEPTICS , HAVE THE CHANCE TO FIND OUT THAT I'M NOT HEAPING ON FALSE PRAISE.

yES! I didnt like the news that dolls were playing with motley crue. Infact it flat out bugged and i refused to go. Now Im glad members split off and joined back in Hanoi. Need to hear when I can see that tour now.
John Battles said:tHAT'S VERY COOL , THAT YOU GOT TO SEE HANOI ROCKS IN THEIR PRIME. A STILL - MISUNDERSTOOD BAND. AMERICANS TENDED TO CLASSIFY 'EM AS "METAL". I did'nt get that , either......I almost got to see them , I wanted to , on the strength of 'Malibu Beach Nightmare " , but the show was cancelled , of course , following Razzle's death. But , Sam Yaffa and Steve Conte left the latter - day Dolls to join Michael Monroes's band , after Yaffa refused to tour with Motley Crue , and most of you know why. End result , Monroe is now fronting an ass- whoopin' band that deserves to bear the Hanoi Rocks name , but , does'nt.
Nero said:It actually worries me that I can remember this kind of stuff, but I have a feeling that the short-lived band you're thinking of was called Shooting Gallery. Think it was Andy McCoy, Tregunna, the singer was a guy called Billy Bang (? okay, I might have made that bit up), and Jo Dog from Dogs D'Amour was in them for a bit, too. Never heard them or saw them live, so quite why I remember this trivia is beyond me. Probably because I was a big Hanoi Rocks fan, saw them a couple of times in their prime, once at the Electric Ballroom in Camden with a band called Ligotage supporting, whose singer was Beki Bondage from Vice Squad, who were pursuing a similar punk/glam sound.
I guess glam is at the root of it all for me, growing up in Seventies Britain. 'Blockbuster' and 'Hellraiser' by the Sweet were my first two 45s, and seeing Bowie in Top Of The Pops doing 'Starman' left an indelible impression. Funny, though, how bands like Sweet and Slade get referred to as 'bricklayers in eyeshadow' by the early punks (I'm thinking of people like Siouxsie, here), unlike the artier Bowie and Roxy Music.
John Battles said:
PROBABLY. tHE ONLY PEOPLE i'VE HEARD TALK ABOUT THEM HAD LIVED IN FINLAND. Andy had , or has , a dysfunctional Rock 'n'Roll "Reality TV' show , liek the Osbournes and The $immon$ family. I saw Andy twice in '88 WITH iGGY pOP , BUT , i THINK THAT'S THE ONLY U.S TOUR HE'S DONE SINCE THE ABORTIVE AND POORLY PROMOTED US TOUR WHICH ENDED , AS I'M SURE YOU ALL KNOW , IN DRUMMER , RAZZLE'S DEATH WITH VINCE NEAL AT THE WHEEL (HE COULD'NT HAVE SENT OUT FOR BEER?). NO , WAIT , THERE WAS ANOTHER BAND. I FORGET THEIR NAME. HIM , DAVE TREGUNNA OR Kenny Laguna, THE GUY FROM lORDS AND sHAM 69. MAYBE NASTY SUICIDE , TOO? They were at China Club , and I refused to go there.
Duke Of Earl said:I heard 2 pelle albums but never the one with Andy Mccoy. Apparently they were finnish only releases.
The Fnords said:Pelle Miljoona was Andy McCoy's best-known pre-Hanoi Rocks band; I've none of their records though. D.
Hi mate you could also take a listen of "Esquerita : Rock'n'roll is here to stay"...this man deserved more popularity. Best Regard
