    • I just received an album in the mail from a band call The Treasure Fleet.  Not so much garage as it is 60s mod and psych.  It'd definitely say it's worth at least a listen.

I've been surprised at how many good bands I've discovered on Bandcamp. If you haven't already, check out The Spyrals, Great Society Mind Destroyers, Magic Shoppe, and Radar Eyes.

    • Did you ever go to a site called Bunnybass? It was gallery after gallery of bizarre looking Bass Guitars. Its gone now, a real shame.

    • Wow, they are really bad! Very crude, the original bridge was something like balsa wood wrapped in metallic foil.  Communist era prudence combined with little to no guitar building experience went into these Urals.  The wiring is the craziest thing I've ever seen! Once they're wired point to point they sound great!  Here's a good article about the Ural guitars, and they're still cheap to buy.

    • Nice! Yeah, I have read that they're unplayable junk, looks like you proved them wrong. Were the frets really that bad? Was it wear, or just poor work?

    • Has anyone ever played a Russian guitar???  Here's a Ural video demo we did...

    • Did you guys see Jagger on Saturday Night Live last weekend?  He played a with the Foo Fighters and Arcade Fire and sang a silly song with Jeff Beck on guitar.  Pretty entertaining.

But when they come out from under,

They can give you a nasty bite.

      True!

    • Read the site, Chris. It's all there in black & white. Also, there was no jury trial. Please read through the thread and the associated links for all the info.

Was this a libel action? If so, what defence did you use? I'd have gone for justification, even though you have to prove it. Fair comment would be easier, as you state the facts and show how you came to that consclusion.

If not, I'd have gone for a public interest defence.

I'm glad you got through to the end and a jury found in your favour.

    • From We Never Learn:

"I went to the van to change my shirt, and the van had been broken into. So I went fucking completely apeshit. I went back in and started throwing shit, walking around all covered in sweat, threatening people with a screwdriver, "Where the fuck is my Walkman?" So they took me back to the hotel to chill out, and Tim [Warren] was missing. He was fucking a disco square."

    • I'M GOING TO SEE BIG JAY MCNEELY. HE'S 85 , OR MORE. i SAW HIM RIGHT AFTER HE TURNED 80 , AND HE KILLED ! So , Honeyboy Edwards was the oldest performer I've ever seen,he was 93 or 94 the last time I saw him.He was a Bluesman , but , he always brought The Rock.  I am going to read the previous comments , but I'm going to be 48 , soon , and I've got the Rheumatism in both eyes , and the misery in my back , and the Arthur - Itis , and I told so many lies in my day , I contracted Phlebitus (You'll have to be over 45 to understand that.).
