    • Hey if you need custom cassettes made, World Class Tapes in Ann Arbor Michigan can help you out. They have some of the last professional duplication setups, and have multiple colored shells available. Buy them blank of have them run them for you. My friend Erik runs the place with his wife. Check them out if you need some stock or whatnot.

    • If you are a band who is looking to put something out on cassette or you know someone who might be interested, please send us your demo! We are a independent label based in Chicago, looking for new talent wherever we can find it.

      Chicago Cassette Label Accepting Submissions

Cold Slice Cassettes, an independent record label out of Logan Square / Humboldt Park, Chicago specializing in Garage Rock, Lo-fi, Surf, Punk & Rockabilly, is currently seeking submissions from artists, new and old. If you or someone you know is looking to be released on cassette, please contact us.

How to send your demo, album, or submission:

      • Have your samples and project info available on a site such as bandcamp, myspace, soundcloud, facebook, reverb nation, etc.
      • Send us an email with your projects information including any relevant links.  Please do not send mp3s in an email as they will be overlooked. (We don’t want to download anything that may harm us so send those links!)
      • Important info: We are looking for full releases of any length, live recordings, or singles for release on our upcoming compilations. We are looking for things we can add to our release queue right away. We prefer to be able to get your release in a lossless format.

      Please send all submissions to:

Joey, this year may be easier for you as it's the weekend after the 4th! Dave does a great job with this fest and it seems to get better every year. Gotta love a festival where the more PBR cans that are thrown at you while your playing, the better!

    • I've always wanted to go, especially since I'm only a two hour drive away from there, BUT it's always on the Fourth of July weekend. Being a family man, there's always all kinds of shit that goes on, so I never get to go. My former co-host of my old podcast went down with his girlfriend and had a blast. My boss (who's a rat rod fanatic) also went for one day and raved about the music and the cars. I've checked out the band rosters for years past, and given the amount of musical acquaintances I've made over the past several years, I know I would be among some good pals if I ever went. I know the event is co-organized by Dave Quick, who also puts on Elvisfest in Chapel Hill every year (which I had planned to go, but now that's fallen through). I may try and hit Cash Bash in Winston-Salem in February, which usually has many of the same bands that perform at all these events.

    • Who else has made it down to Heavy Rebel in Winston-Salem? My old band played there the last few years and I've always wanted to take my Model A down, but it's a 7 hour drive and having to haul gear as well makes it a dilemma. If we don't get on the lineup this year, I may drive it down. It's a great weekend of Music and Rods!

    • hey guys - Lucas here again, frontman for Brother K (brotherk.bandcamp.com).  We're also looking to book some shows in different cities in the new year, and would be down to open for/double feature with any acts in Boston, the New Haven area, New Jersey, or Philly.  If you dig our stuff, just hit me back and let's sort something out.  Looking forward to connecting with some great musicians.

    • What's up guys - first time user here, frontman for NYC based Brother K (check out our new EP at brotherk.bandcamp.com).  We're a fairly new band, and were recently invited to do a show at Sullivan Hall, provided that we double billed with another band to increase the draw.  If you dig what you hear at our bandcamp site, hit me back!

Also, a friend and I sent in RSVP requests several days ago and still have heard nothing. If anyone here has more info on this show and knows what the deal is, it'd be much appreciated if they could pass it along. Thanx!!

    • In the navigation menu under the "GaragePunk Hideout" banner at the top of the site, you'll see "My Page" (third button from the left). Hover over it, and a drop-down menu will pop up. Second option down, "My Blog". Click that, and on the page it takes you to, next to the right sidebar, there'll be a button with a plus sign that says, "Add". That'll let you post a blog.

You can post whatever you want in your blog on this site, but there is no self-promotion allowed in the forums. There used to be a "Shameless self promotion" section to the forum, but people were abusing it, so now you have to use your own blog on your profile.
