    • .....And , I'm not ruling out "Beat on The Brat" and "Two Headed Dog" as possibly still existing on tape , either.

    • ....Darren , I could be mistaken. But , I'm giad you picked up on my Tempest theory. I only learned , recently , that she's still alive. I saw her obituary about 10 years ago. Woooooo ooooooo.

It's possible that Ivy does'nt want to release any unseen girlie photos of herself , as those pics were all taken by Lux. I don't know.  In reality , that's her decision , either way , and I respect that. I could be dead wrong about that , too , but , somehow , that picture does'nt seem to be her.

Yeah , a "How To Make a Monster" LP set would be the bomb. Slap some covers on there that never turn up , like "My Flash On You" , "Hungry", "You're Gonna Miss Me", etc.

Wow , a complete , expanded "Gravest Hits" , MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYBODYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Come what may , I'm glad this stuff is coming out , that which we know is coming out , and it can't hurt to hope for the rest.......

    • Hey John,

totally get the Tempest Storm comparison, I'm guessing that (as far as I'm aware) as there aren't any extra tracks or coloured vinyl editions that Ivy sanctioned a raunchier cover by way of a compromise....Fiends Of Dope Island is being re-issued with a Monochrome cover, a bit like the B&W French edition of Off The Bone.....what was more interesting and so tantalising by it's absence is a re-issue of How To Make a Monster as it's been rumoured for a couple of years now that this is going to be released as a four album box set !!! so here's hoping for that !

The other prospect being the oft announced 'Gravest Gravy', the full session, never before released, not even on a dodgy boot, all bells and whistles, complete Gravest Hits !!!  Now that really would be christmas coming early !

    • It looks great , Darren. I have to wonder , why a new cover , unless Ivy just wanted to give fans something different? ....It's not like the original cover was overly revealing by 90's butt floss - wearing standards.

It also does'nt exactly look like Ivy , from the neck down. She almost looks like a less top - heavy Tempest Storm , not a damn thing wrong with that , but , Ivy's actually very well - toned , but less voluptuous in appearance. Don't get me wrong , I was fortunate enough to have met her. She's stunning.

I do like the cover , it reminds me of how much better an alternate sleeve for "Rockin' Reelin' Auckland NZ"with the "Get off The Road" pic of Ivy on a bike would have looked.  When I bought the CD , years after getting the LP , THAT PICTURE WAS IN THE CD PACKET , SO i TURNED IT AROUND , SO THAT WOULD BE THE "Alternate cover". Nothing against the original sleeve , it was designed to look like the bootlegs of the day....

A lot of people thought it WAS a bootleg , until word got out that The Cramps had reinstated the Vengeance label.

    • I don't know...Stay Sick has some pretty sexy artwork! Hope they look as good.

    • Vengeance are re-issuing the Cramps albums with new artwork for Stay Sick and Fiends Of Dope Island.

Still no sign of the promised 'Gravest Gravy' and boxset vinyl edition of 'How To Make A Monster' though.

      Friday September 19th

Deviation Street is London’s hot hang-out for desperate rock’n’rollers. You’ll see & hear the best new garage and trashy rock’n’roll bands we can find.

In addition DJs Paul Milne (The Magnetic Mind) + Suzie Greengrass (Hidden Door) will be on hand with the vintage vinyl, spinning 45s of garage, beat, acid rock, & other assorted trash.

Lean, wiry, brash and catchy: darkly witty surf-punkabilly twangfest from London

5 like minded geezers back in the ring. Old enough to know better, just young enough to be better... and having a ball sonically kicking the bollocks off all & sundry. Stand up, join up and get on the end of that...

Filling a space that has long been empty in the British music scene, The Mynd Set are the era-bending, genre-defying purveyors of psychedelic freakbeat not seen since the heady days of Swinging London. From Stevenage (like Lewis Hamilton, before he fucked off to Monaco)

New boys in class! Matt Willford (guitar), Dave Newington (drums). Hats might be worn.

      Friday August 15th

Deviation Street is London’s hot hang-out for desperate rock’n’rollers. You’ll see & hear the best new garage and trashy rock’n’roll bands we can find.

In addition resident DJ Phil Istine & guest DJ Ben Craven will be on hand with the vintage vinyl, spinning 45s of garage, beat, rock’n’roll, & other assorted trash.

The Galileo 7 play psych-tinged, garage-flavoured, Medway-tainted power-pop and feature former Prisoner, Solarflare and current Forefather Allan Crockford. ‘False Memory Lane’, the new album, is now out.

A garage punk behemoth. Wowing audiences with their dynamic live shows, reactions have ranged from crazed, inspired dancing to requests for a biscuit. With high powered tunes featuring sabre-sharp lyrics and riffs with more hooks than velcro, you really can't go wrong.

London troupe who mix up classic rock’n’roll with garage and punk touches. As Shindig! scribe Hugh Dellar commented on seeing them live: “like The Heartbreakers had started covering Highway 61”. Spot on.

10,000 man hours – 10,000 lbs of psychedelic rock’n'soul, greasy garage grind and fuzzzzzzzzzed-out bubblegum noise pleasure! Debut single ‘L.S.D’ was described as sounding “like some raw ‘n’ atonal freaked ‘n’ f**ked -up heads-down wig-flipped brew, cooked up by a shit-faced coming together of Hawkwind, MC5 and the Buttholes with the eternally-admired Mummies”.

    • There are some bands I'd warn my friends in Europe against seeing live , but The Fleshtones are not , and never will be one of them. Like many bands that have survived false trends and the ravages of time , The Fleshtones have had their peaks and valleys. But their valleys were miles above the peaks most modern "Garage"' bands could ever aspire to.

I never saw The Cramps with Bryan or Kid (Who's a super nice guy , and does a great show , today.) , but , I was lucky I saw them at all , and they NEVER failed. I first saw The Fleshtones 30 years ago , hard to believe , but , while I've never seen them do a bad show , but , it was only up from there.....Keith Streng once told me about attending The Cramps' first gig , in 1976 , at Max's , supporting Suicide , saying it was THE gig that made him want to start a band. Thurston Moore , who happened to be at the same show , said the same thing in a documentary , so , The Cramps did'nt just become influential , they started out that way .

First and foremost , Lux and Ivy were/are fans, just as we are. Stay Sick , Turn Blue. Oxnard......
