Fantastic film. Fantastic band.
Thanks for posting, it's really good. Anyone in a band should watch this, they do it for the music. That's why I love garage so much, it sounds real.
I'm going to see the Fleshtones at the 31st Street Pub here in Pittsburgh next month on the 22nd, and they will share the bill with the Cynics. They did this once before in March 2002, and it was the best night I ever had at the Pub.
The Fleshtones are coming to St. Louis in November for the Beat 'n' Soul fest. Really looking forward to this as it's been something like 20 years since they were last here. Come on down!
We saw The Fleshtones a coupla weeks ago for the first time in many years. They have NOT slowed down at all, in fact the show we saw recently was the WILDEST we've ever seen them!!!! If you ever get a chance to see The Fleshtones, DO NOT miss them!! Greatest live band I've ever seen!!!!! And some of the nicest people you'll ever meet!
Thanks a lot for the link !
I'm Not Like Everybody Else pretty much sums up my entire life.

Did Ratoonie just put a lil burn on us??? LOL!
ratoonie said:sorry * but the Stones and the Who have absolutly nothing in common!!!!!

Just to digress a little I've been told by a member of Derek's Accent that their music style was heavily based on The Who. Makes sense when you think about it!

I think this is more up my alley than the Peoples Hall of fame.

I don't own any, but I've heard from several people in recent years that they're very good quality axes. Definitely good enough for playing garage trash!
Anyone out there own a guitar from this company? The shapes are real garage inspired rockers. Airline (Jack White), Hi-Fyer (Kurt Cobain) and Mosrite guitars shapes like the ones played by The Ventures and Johnny Ramone. They start at $399.00 but don't go over $1000.00. They get great reviews but I would like to hear form one of you! They also have a cool website.
BUDGET ROCK!!
DICK SCUM!! (Armitage Shanks)
No one mentioned El Duce. They got Sickie Wifebeater but then from that same band you have Heathen Scum, Moose Dick & later Insect on Acid. Three of my personal favorites have always been Fester Swollen of the Rotters, Olga of the Toy Dolls & Robert Omlit of The Omlits & Several Pamelas. Alan Creed said:
no El Duce? Or did I miss that?

Thanks Dave. They sure gave a great show in Santa Fe. I'm looking forward to the Cincinatti sessions too -- also reissue of the first album on Ace Records, supposedly by the end of the year. whatwave dave said:
Great interview/article!!
I can still remember when i first played that very first Barrence Whitfield and the Savages LP...BLEW ME AWAY!!! Absolutely nobody was doing anything even remotely like that at the time!!!
We didn't get to see Barrence until 1988 when he first came up to Canada....not quite the same, but still a CRAZY man on stage!! And a GREAT guy to hang out with too!! He was into all of the same crazy music that we were into!
It's great to hear that he's gonna be recording w/Peter Greenburg and Phil Lenker cause that was the ULTIMATE lineup of the band!! OW OW OW!!!

Yeah yeah! plus their inclusion of CD's is a great way to get some life out of it as well. estefania said:
mongrel zine... good stuff! from vancouver, interviews, lp's and shows reviews, underground art...I really like it
Interesting. Yeah, that probably means they had a lot of RSVPs that didn't pick up their wristbands. Sara said:
I just saw that they were re-opening the RSVP process. Does this mean that the number of RSVPs hasn't surpassed expectations yet? Or is this standard procedure for Scion? I RSVPed for Portland last year but ended up not going.... See you all in a few days!!
