    • Show #394: "The Eggman Collection #126"

The Eggman Collection is basically a big potpourri of every song I've ever liked in my life...EVER! It's literally a huge mixing bowl full of songs written onto tiny pieces of paper. Over 20,000 songs that I've been compiling for the past 20-plus years of my life. Every song I've ever liked has gone into this bowl, and every three weeks I draw them out one-by-one and play them for you in no particular order. A mix of everything and anything I like, no matter what genre, era, style or year of release...if I like it, then I'll play it! No repeats of the same song ever! Tune in tonight (Friday) at 10pm EST for the 126th installment of The Eggman Collection and hear bands and artists like: Grand Funk Railroad, The Clique, Chad & Jeremy, The Rascals, The Cosmic Brotherhood, Heldon, The Doors, Thundermug, Morning Dew, Jason Eddie & The Centremen, The Mamas & The Papas, Klaatu, The Beatles, The Box Tops, The Fugs, Pink Floyd, The Association, Herman's Hermits, John Cale, International Harvester, Jethro Tull, Smile, Wild Man Fischer, The Ronettes, The West Coast Pop Art Experimental Band, and many others!!

    • Hey !

There's a new compilation on my blog, from my friend Major Tom. This one is a cosmic hallucination, that you can play only WITHOUT any medical advice. I don't really know where he find this stuff, I can only say that you don't get out from this experience without brain damage, you've been warned !

So, here it is, Take your protein pills and put your helmet on

      Hi Allan,

Thanks for getting back to me. So many amazing bands you've been in! I'll get some questions written up and email them to you. I'll try and come see your new band when you play in Dalston too, not too far from where I am.

      Cheers

    • That would be so much help, cheers!  I'm gutted I'll never get the chance to see either of those bands, if only I'd been born a few years earlier...

      Matt said:

Hey Adam- Yeah, I saw The Buff Medways at Cavestomp 2001 at the Warsaw in Brooklyn.  What a night... just a few weeks after 9/11.  The Buffs were great, obviously.  The Downliners Sect played as well, and the Buffs came back out to sing along to some tracks and shake maracas, etc.  I have some photos, I think (I'll have to get them out of storage).  I saw Thee Headcoats a few years earlier in Manhattan (I've forgotten the venue) The Makers opened up for them.

Yeah, I could scan those zines for ya, in the spirit of research.  Just give me some time to dig 'em up and warm up the scanner! Best, Matt

      Adam Kemp said:

So jealous you got to see those bands Matt, especially The Buff Medways. Where did you see them? Do you think there's any chance you could scan the copies of that zine into the computer? I would love to read them and I'm sure they would help. I'd never heard of it before you said.

And Jon, I'm not sure where it'll be available, I've only just started on the project but I'll definitely let you know.

      Cheers.

And yes for me it's look cool too... M. Watt or M. Bruce look great with that in their hands.

Will make a little review here if I purchase it.
