you gotta treat a woman rough

and keep her in lineoh, oh, oh, oh!
you gotta pull her by the hair
hold her tighter than a grizzly bear
be a caveman (oh, oh, oh)
and keep her in lineyou gotta show a woman who wears the pants
if you want her to stick by you
you can have her eating right out of your hand
heres what ya gotta do..show a woman that you're a man
you gotta show her where you stand
be a caveman (oh, oh, oh)
and keep her in lineoh, oh, oh, oh!

I'm also including a YouTube link with a funny video to go along with the song. Enjoy!

another golden tear has been shed for this true pioneer, the world already feels his loss.
Captain Beefheart has been a fave of mine since i stumbled across Clear Spot way too many years ago...some of the craziest and wildest guitar and vocals you'll hear anywhere!! I've been hoping all of these years that the Captain would come out of retirement for one last shot of magic....
Brilliant guy.....a sad loss........Safe as MIlk is also my favourite......we used to jam Diddy Wah Diddy....a great song....
That's a shame man.'Safe as milk is my favorite',and 'electricity' made me choose what college to follow.Real shame...
The strange and mysterious musical visionary passes away *captain beefheart*

the best white blues singer just passed away....i do not know what you guys think about him but when i first listened "diddy wah diddy" my brain just blown away!
You know what? Sorry about my tirade against 'adult' animation but everytime people find out that I don't like The Simpsons/Family Guy/South Park they pull a face as if i'd just spat virgins blood in the face of Mother Teresa. Get over it fer Christs sake!!!

YEAH, the bird! Hearing it for 20+ years has never made it old, a true classic.
And that the sensor of the protestors has fallen on this song, is clearly a sign that 200X marks the year of the return of the old gods ...of ROCK'N'ROLL.
Every other explaination is just worldly BS. Their ways are many. Listen and get blown away.
IXNAY: That is right in my case, my cartoons are a attempt to make people as stupid as possible ...in a good way. My operation is small, so multiplyed by the large zombie/human population... this might ...take forever.

I was gonna guess this was from Family Guy. I also agree with Ray that it's very cool that this is happening, but it doesn't seem to be because anyone thinks it's cool. It's all part of the joke from the TV show.
And for the record, Family guy is absolutely hilarious. Definitely not appropriate for young children.
I don't know if you are aware of why this has happened? It's a reaction against a TV show called 'The X Factor' [same bullshit as American Idol] assuming they will have the [much desired] Christmas number one spot in the 'Top 40 Chart'. Someone set up a Facebook page last year and got Rage Against The Machine's 'Killing In The Name Of' to number one instead.
I think Surfin' Bird was chosen because of the skit on an episode of Family Guy. I've never seen the show personally [as I think cartoons are for kids and that it's just a mass media attempt to dumb us down]. Ultimately, yes, it's cool that people are rallying against the assumption that some bullshit pop wannabe is guaranteed a number one song because of their success on a TV show. I do think it's a shame that people aren't buying the song because they think it's cool.
You probably knew all of this anyway - So forgive my rambling...
When every other song on the list is forgotten Surfin' Bird will still be blasting away somewhere. It's timeless!
Boppa OOUU MAU MAU Boppa OOUU MAU MA MAU!! Awesome. I hope this ain't a joke.
My god! Never EVER thought I'd see Rhianna's name next to the Thrashmen! Surfin' bird is my all time fav tune!
Great work! What keyboard do you use?
And my two penneth..
The Real Kids first album
V2 - Vibrators
I'll take the first 2 Saints albums as well
X-Ray Spex album
and not a punk (or any kind of rock -except kraut) La Dusseldorf - a fine album!
That's exactly what we do, only with four songs. Straight in your face, motherfucker. We once tried opening with a slower song to give people time to come in, and they didn't, so full force now.
And I'd also never open with a cover. This looks like you ain't got the guts to show your own material. Fuck it - you're on stage, so your stuff is good enough to open the show.
Besides, we do no covers at all, we just steal and "quote" as much as we can - the fun is even bigger when in the middle of your own song you start singing some well-known tune or play some notorious riff, and you see people's faces going: "Hey, I know that! Well, that's barefaced!"

I'd play 3 (short) fast songs in a row, no talking in between, no break longer than it takes to count to 4, and after the third take a break and greet the audience. I'd NEVER start with an instrumental. Did that and it didn't work. Unless you play in a Surf band, of course.
Songs? Maybe something like a Sonics medley. That should get everyone in the right mood.
I really like to end our shows with a couple of covers, usually Gloria and Little Latin Lupe Lu. Maybe starting it with a cover isn't such a good idea but I admit that I have thought about opening a show with Rumble.
